Strawberry shortcake brochettes

Ingredients

12 strawberries, hulled
½ store-bought angel food cake (142 g), cut into 2.5-cm (1-in.) cubes
4 wooden skewers 20 cm (8 in.) long, soaked in water for 1 hour
30 mL (2 tbsp.) honey
1 mL (¼ tsp.) cinnamon
15 mL (1 tbsp.) water
250 mL (1 cup) plain Greek yogurt

Preparation

Preheat barbecue to medium.
Build skewers, alternately threading the strawberries and cake cubes onto each one. Set aside.
In a small microwaveable bowl, stir together the honey, cinnamon, and water. Heat in microwave on high for 30 seconds and then stir well. Brush honey mixture over brochettes.
Place brochettes on barbecue. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side until cake is golden brown.
Eat brochettes plain or with the yogurt dip
